"With summer
approaching we are once again confronted, as
council tax payers (includes Parish tax), with
having to pay a fee to park in the car park
adjoining the beach at the bottom of South
Street. I have protested to the Parish council
on several occasions with no success.
I personally,
feel it is outrageous that this charge should
apply to locals.
Any idea what the
wider feeling is? Do you feel there might be
value in canvassing opinion via your website in
order to apply pressure. I do feel that a
sticker could be issued to locals to obtain free
parking"

The parking at Beach Green is run by a private
company who take the revenue for themselves.
They rent the car park from the council so even
if residents were allowed to park there the rent
to the council would still be the same. |

"The other day I passed the car park on the A259,
there was an attendant on the gate and the car
park was full of fee paying cars, mostly
visitors from afar. What is the problem? Do
angry locals want to park where there are no
spaces? Do angry locals want to trash a profit
that the council earns from charging? Do angry
locals want the parking attendant to loose their
jobs?
Dear angry locals. Leave the car park alone. The
visitors that use the car park spend money and
add value to the local community. I am not
angry, try to understand why and you may enjoy
your own life a little more" |

"yes I agree!!!!
its a cheek and there seems to be no
consistency!!!
free for Lancing residents would be good, I
thought I was alone with my thinking on the
subject!!
also do we really have to have a fairground on
there??
it ruins the grass and prevents everybody from
using the green!!!!
I know it creates revenue but where does that
revenue go???" |

"I think we all get less for our money
now-days whether its Council Tax, Gas, Electric etc
etc. with regard to the council years ago
councillors use to represent the people who voted
for them now they seem to do the opposite take
Titnor Lane for example it is a disgrace the same
can be said for our local council does anyone think
we get good value for money. The water companies
complain at the lack of water, surely this has not
happened in just 2005-2006 should they not be
planning ahead oh silly me how could they justify
the probable large increases that no doubt will
appear next year if everything was ok. they do need
to keep there shareholders happy with a nice big
return. there iv had my whinge" |

"Yes yes, I agree !!! What do we pay all the
Council Tax for? We seem to be getting less and
less for more and more (of our hard-earned
money!). Go Peter go ..... " |
