Code of Conduct for Posting your Views to the North Lancing Community Association Web Site

The purpose of this forum is for Members to share ideas and opinions with each other. You may have different opinions than other Members.  We welcome views and comments from all sides of the spectrum, including constructive comments on other peoples’ views which may already have been posted on this site.  We believe that differing views helps us all to learn more about a particular subject and makes the discussion more interesting; it can also help build community spirit if done properly and considerately, which is one of the main remits of our association.

We feel that this works best when people agree to abide by a few rules. Some of the key things to remember are:

  1. You should not make any comments about any person of a personal or abusive nature; the intention is for you to present you opinion on the subject alone and not on any person who may or may not be involved.
  2. You should not post content that is obscene, otherwise objectionable, or in violation of national or civil law.
  3. Stay on topic.  If you have something to say on other subjects, please raise this with the Site Owner who publish your comments in an appropriate place.
  4. You must not use the site for commercial or advertising purposes without the express permission of the Site Owner.
  5. You must not post content which infringes the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of third parties.
  6. Some content may be more appropriate in some contexts than others. We reserve the right to remove content that it determines, in its sole discretion, to be inappropriate and in violation of the rules
  7. You must not post information which may contravene the Data Protection Act, for example personal information about other people.

This Web Site and its content is the responsibility of the Owner, Andy Brook andy@northlancing.com  He reserves the right to check content posted by Members and reject or edit it if it contravenes the guidelines above or is otherwise likely to offend.  He may liaise with you in the first instance if he feels that amendments need to be made.  However, he will not censor or edit any relevant views which may or may not be in accord with his or anyone else’s.  Each person’s opinion is as valuable to us all as that of anyone else.
