I had a phone call the other day from a breeder
asking me what kind of training do we do and if I
had any qualifications. I told her what we did and
that I had no qualifications as such just loads of
years of experience. She just put the phone down on
me. So, I started to give this some thought. When
anyone reads an ad for a job quite often it says
experience required.
Well, all the book learning in the world can’t teach
you hands on experience. So I just wonder what her
reply would have been if I had said that I had been
to college and read loads of books and passed exams
with just the reading and no hands on experience?
All I know is that we are always full up and that
lots of people with their dogs return to us for
follow on courses and the recommendations still keep
coming.
So book learning isn’t everything. Experience, in my
mind, is, with a little reading along the way.
