Good things come wrapped in small parcels. Well not always according to Times readers reeling over the shock of the new ‘compact!’ Now life has been pitched into the shock of the new and the small. It is not big enough to lay down for decorating – its new design makes it hard to find the weather. Can compact ever be a good thing? At Christmas time Christians celebrate an amazing compact edition. It is the compact God who is contracted to a tiny dot. Jesus is born so that we may have an edition of God that is accessible and readable to all. That is what the Shepherds said: Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.
